Air pollution is a challenge at the European, as well as at the regional level in the Western Balkans. Annual reports of environment protection agencies of Serbia and Kosovo show alarming levels of air pollution, particularly in urban areas. The EU integration process of both sides is a good opportunity for improving air quality, public health and citizens’ quality of life through implementation of the EU acquis.
