The demographic trends we are witnessing have negative consequences for the economy, internal relations, and political stability, raising numerous questions: Are the concerning demographic projections realistic?
Can these processes be slowed down or reversed? How can public policies mitigate the consequences of these changes?What are the experiences of other countries in the region or Europe?What role do local authorities, the business sector, and civil society play in addressing these issues?
We discussed all these questions in Užice on March 27, 2025, as part of the project Demographic Crisis in Serbia and Its Impact on the Economy and Business. The event was attended by a large number of representatives from various social actors in the Zlatibor District.
